2014, a poem

2014

2014 was the beginning

of the end

because that’s when Robin Williams died.

There was Flight 370.

There was Crimea.

There were the Bundys.

There was a kidnapping in Nigeria.

There was Boko Haram.

There was an apartment

building in Pyongyang.

There was ISIS

and ISIL.

There was FIFA

in Brazil,

and weed

in Colorado.

There was a plane

in Ukraine.

There was Ferguson

and Michael Brown.

There was Syria.

There was Scotland.

There was the World Trade

Center 2.0.

There was Cuba.

It wasn’t all bad.

But 2014

was still the beginning of the end,

because that’s when Robin Williams died.
