Patience is a virtue but not a given,
and random words spewed by tv hosts
and wanna be Instagram stars mean nothing to me.
Being 13 years old is now a crime
and there is no justice for the dead.
They say be patient as the machine guns
mow down the democratic and the decent
and the loved.
Will patience still be a virtue then?
Do you have patience for the patients of Oregon State Hospital
or the Buzzfeed infirmary?
Do you have patience for the Svengali with a podcast,
telling your parents not to get the vaccine and your child
to hate women?
If this is what patience yields, I promise to remain impatient.
