Patrick Stewart as Vladimir Lenin, YOU ARE WELCOME SOCIALISTS WHO ARE ALSO NERDS!

Before he was Captain Jean-Luc Piccard,

Before he was Professor Xavier,

Before he was Stan Smith’s boss,

He was the greatest revolutionary of the early 21st century.

So after seeing this, who else is going to hunt down a copy of Fall of Eagles? I sure am.

Enjoy comrades! 🙂

  1. Interesting. It looks like this is a 13 part BBC series that actually focuses on the various monarchies that would be ultimately overthrown or forever changed by the revolution and by World War I. Lenin & co get screen time as part of the process. It looks like some or most of it is available on YouTube.

I also found a set of reviews of the series at the “An Historian Goes to the Movies” including one (the last) focusing on the Communists:

There have been, in the past few years, quite a few new biographies published about Lenin, Trotsky, etc. They’ve left me feeling decidedly unsentimental about them as individuals, to the point where I’m grateful to have not known any of them. But that’s just my humble opinion.

You might consider doing your own review of the series. I’d be interested.
